The city police office is fully prepared for the upcoming arrival in Puerto Princesa of the renowned floating bookstore, MV Doulos Hope, on September 25.
The Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) said it has ramped up security preparations for the ship’s arrival to ensure the safety and orderliness of the event, which will continue until October 5.
Police Colonel Ronie Bacuel, the city police director, said in the release that a thorough security strategy has been developed to address potential challenges, including crowd management, traffic control, and the safety of event attendees.
“We are fully prepared to ensure the safety and security of all visitors and participants during the MV Doulos Hope’s visit,” he said.
“Our police force, together with our partner agencies, is on high alert and ready to respond to any situation. The Puerto Princesa City Police Office will be actively visible in all key areas, ensuring that this event will be peaceful and well-organized,” Bacuel added.
He pointed out that they are collaborating closely with local government units, port authorities, and community stakeholders to guarantee that all event-related activities proceed seamlessly and without interruptions.
The allocation of police personnel will be optimized in key locations, port facilities, and event sites. Foot patrols and mobile patrol teams will be utilized to ensure peace and order during the event.
The PPCPO will work closely with the Philippine Ports Authority, Philippine Coast Guard, and Maritime Units to provide port security, particularly in light of the expected surge in visitors,” stated the municipal police.
The city police department is assured that, through joint planning and community collaboration, the visit of the MV Doulos Hope will be a secure, enjoyable, and unforgettable experience for everyone.
