The Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) sang songs for the public as its way of celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Senior Superintendent Marion Balonglong, city police director, said Thursday that the activity is part of their effort to build a friendly relationship with the public.
“We are celebrating the day of hearts with the people. Ito pong ginagawa ng Puerto Princesa City Police Office ngayon is isa sa PCR activities natin to bring [us] more near to the population or to the people of Puerto Princesa,” Balonglong said.
City officers did not only sing to the public, but they also handed out Valentine cards.
The serenade was held after the 17th Love Affair with Nature at Sitio Tagbarungis, Inagawan Sub Colony.
Balonglong said they have deployed personnel in areas that are expected to be crowded with people.
“Meron po tayong police na deployed most especially sa mga tourist spots natin. Alam naman natin na ang tourism dito sa Puerto Princesa o in the [whole] province of Palawan is napakalakas,” he said.
Also present at the public serenade was City Crime Laboratory Office (CCLO) head officer, Chief Inspector Rafael Roxas.
Balonglong also asked the public to cooperate with the police to help maintain peace and order in Puerto Princesa City.
