The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) conducted a training in Narra aimed at strengthening the capacity of local social workers in handling cases involving children and women who require special protection.
Held on May 29, the Gender Sensitivity Training and Orientation on Handling Cases of Children at Risk (CAR), Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL), Children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP), and Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) gathered personnel from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Narra.
The activity focused on gender sensitivity, the rights of women and children, and proper case management for vulnerable sectors. Participants were also oriented on relevant laws, intervention mechanisms, and community-based approaches designed to improve responses to cases involving child welfare and gender-based violence.
PSWDO social welfare officers Danlyn A. Gutierrez and Ruby Claire Escubin served as resource speakers during the training, which was conducted under the direction of PSWDO chief Abigail D. Ablaña.
Organized by the MSWDO of Narra, the activity forms part of ongoing efforts to promote gender-responsive, child-friendly, and inclusive communities in Palawan under the provincial government’s PALAWAN + PLUS Development Agenda.
