The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has committed to improving the delivery of social services in Palawan’s towns under the direction of Governor Amy Alvarez.
In a strategic staff meeting held on July 31, the provincial social welfare office reviewed how its programs for women, youth, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities would align with the new governance direction of the provincial government.
“With a shared vision and renewed commitment, PSWDO continues to deliver compassionate and people-centered services ensuring no Palaweño is left behind on the path to an inclusive and empowered Palawan. Alinsunod sa ninanais ng ating butihing Gov. Amy Alvarez—sa serbisyong wasto, Palaweño ay sigurado,” said PSWDO head Abigail Ablaña.
She said the agency has adopted the “Strategic Governance Framework” being implemented by Governor Alvarez, referring to initiatives such as CAREGOV and SYNERGOV to guide their operations.
The agency is also adapting reforms under INTEG360 and the newly opened YAKAP Action Center to speed up public service delivery.
Ablaña said their office is also supporting the provincial government’s bid for the 2025 Seal of Good Local Governance, ensuring that its projects follow national development goals such as the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023–2028 and AmBisyon Natin 2040.
