Palawan State University–Palawan International Technology Business Incubators (PSU–PITBI) hosted an information campaign on Monday, August 19, for the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) 2024, aiming to empower the next generation of agri-preneurs.
The event focused on the four key components of the YFC program, providing guidance on business development assistance, outlining the responsibilities of awardees, and detailing the evaluation criteria for aspiring applicants.
The session, led by YFC representatives Charlyn Abrina and Chelsea Denise Bejec, was attended by students from the College of Business and Accountancy and the College of Teacher Education of Palawan State University.
Success stories from local farmers in Aborlan were shared with the participants, showcasing the transformative impact of agri-entrepreneurship.
The Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) is a key initiative under the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) ongoing efforts to support and promote the growth of the agricultural community by engaging the youth.
The DA, in partnership with PSU-PITBI, aims to emphasize the crucial role of young farmers in ensuring a resilient, innovative, and regenerative agricultural sector for the future.
PSU-PITBI, the first technology business incubator in the MIMAROPA region, aims to expand employment and income opportunities, develop alternative economic solutions, enhance the competitiveness of key sectors, and support the development and commercialization of new technologies.
