The Provincial Board approved a P149-million supplemental budget for 2019 on Tuesday for road widening, bridge, and hospital construction purposes.
Board Member Leoncio Ola, chair of the appropriations committee of the Provincial Board, said the budget came from the savings of the provincial government for this year.
Among the projects it is intended for is the construction of the third floor of the Coron District Hospital.
Ola said that the amount of the supplemental budget was unused by some offices.
It was reprogrammed, he said, partly because they are avoiding a re-enacted budget next year.
“From savings ito. Otherwise, baka kapag tumawid na kami ng 2019 hindi namin naaprubahan baka magkaroon kami ng re-enacted budget kaya kailangan before the end of the last session of December [ma-approved na],” Ola said.
In 2018, the province had a P113 million supplemental budget which was appropriated for different projects of the Palawan government.
