The Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) brought its PNP Day celebration to commuters and travelers through a public showing held at the main transport terminal on January 29.
The activity took place at the Puerto Princesa Central Land Transportation Terminal in Barangay Irawan, a busy hub used daily by passengers heading to different parts of the city and nearby towns.
Commuters and travelers were able to watch a livestream of the PNP Day celebration, giving them a chance to see the programs and accomplishments of the police force.
The PPCPO is headed by PCol. Christine Tabdi said the venue was chosen to reach more people and make the celebration accessible to the public.
The event was organized by the City Community Affairs and Development Unit of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office and was led by PEMS Leoveth Venturillo.
Police officials said the activity aimed to strengthen police-community relations by bringing police initiatives closer to the public, especially those who may not normally attend official ceremonies.
The PPCPO said similar community-based activities help improve public understanding of the role of the police in maintaining peace, order, and safety in the city.
