PPC gov’t to construct new police station in Sta. Lourdes

A new police station is set to be established in Barangay Sta. Lourdes to serve as a “blocking point” for Puerto Princesa City in case a crime occurs and perpetrators need to be prevented from escaping to other parts of Palawan.

This announcement was made by Mayor Lucilo Bayron on the morning of Monday, August 5, during the regular flag-raising ceremony at City Hall.

He explained that the same procedure would be followed if the suspects are from outside Puerto Princesa but reported to the city police office.

Bayron explained that this is the purpose behind the city’s establishment of a police station in Irawan near the new transportation terminal.

He added that the one to be built in Sta. Lourdes will be larger than the Irawan police station, more modern, and will enhance the capability of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) in maintaining peace and order.

The new police station, whose construction start date was not specified by Bayron, will be the sixth in the city.
