The National Electrification Administration (NEA) and Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) have been requested to implement the Barangay Line Enhancement Program (BLEP) in some barangays within the municipalities of Quezon and Rizal.

Board Member Ryan Maminta said the sitios and barangays along the national highway in Barangays Tagusao to Iraan covering Calumpang and Quinlogan to Bunog in Rizal are still off the main grid.

Also included are Brgys. Punta Baja, Campong Ulay, Ransang and Candawaga in Rizal.

“This deprives our constituents living in the area from basic electrification services,” he said.

He said that electric cooperatives have the power to construct, maintain and operate electric transmission lines that play a large role in electrification.

Meanwhile, he said that better electric service will yield more opportunities including infrastructure for rural development.
