A motorcycle rider without a driver’s license and operating a motorcycle allegedly without a functioning foot brake figured in a road crash that injured three people in Barangay Malatgao, Narra on the evening of May 14, according to a report shared by the Palawan Police Provincial Office.
The crash happened around 8:05 p.m. and involved a black Mitsukushi Euro 125 motorcycle driven by a 28-year-old farmer identified only as “Nonoy” and another motorcycle, a black Suzuki Smash 115, driven by a 47-year-old man identified as “Jam,” a resident of Barangay Antipuluan, Narra.
Police said both motorcycles were traveling in the same direction from west to east along the road in Barangay Malatgao when the second motorcycle allegedly lost control and struck the rear portion of the first motorcycle.
“Due to the speed of V2 and the absence of [his motorcycle’s] foot brake, the driver of said motorcycle suddenly lost his balance and control and accidentally hit/bump the rear portion of V1,” the police report stated.
The two drivers and the back rider of the first motorcycle sustained injuries and were brought by personnel of the Narra Emergency Response Unit to Narra Municipal Hospital for treatment.
The report also stated that the driver of the second motorcycle was unable to present a driver’s license.
Authorities said both motorcycles sustained undetermined damage and were brought to the Narra Municipal Police Station for safekeeping and proper disposition.
