Authorities are conducting a manhunt for three suspects involved in an attack on a fisherman Tuesday in Barangay Liminangcong, Taytay, northern Palawan.
The Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO), who did not name the victim, said he is 30 years old and a resident of Brgy. Tumbod in the same town.
Based on the initial investigation carried out by the personnel of the police station in the town, the fisherman and his companion were on their way home around midnight on February 11 when they were attacked by the suspects, armed with a knife, shovel, and digging bar.
“The suspects, while aiding each other, mauled and stabbed the victim hitting him on different parts of his body,” PalPPO said.
The victim was able to escape and run to ask for help from his father and cousin, who then brought him to the Northern Palawan Provincial Hospital on board a motorized banca for medical treatment.
Manhunt operation is being conducted and still ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects.
