A fisherman was killed while another was injured in a dynamite explosion while fishing off Barangay Paly in Taytay, Palawan, on Monday morning, August 18.
The Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO) identified the victims yesterday, August 19, as Rene, 37, and Roy, 23, both residents and fishermen of the barangay.
Initial investigation showed that the two were aboard a motorized banca when Rene held a dynamite that suddenly went off while still in his possession. Both men sustained serious injuries.
Rene was rushed to the Northern Palawan Provincial Hospital (NPPH) but was declared dead by doctors at 12:55 p.m. Roy remains confined at the same hospital for treatment.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
