Police arrest suspected drug personality in Puerto Princesa buy-bust

Police arrested a suspected drug personality in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Police Station 2 Station Drug Enforcement Team on January 13, 2026, in Barangay Sicsican, Puerto Princesa City.

The operation took place at around 4:15 p.m. The suspect was identified as SLI, 30, a construction worker and a resident of Purok Talisay, Barangay Sicsican. Police said the suspect had been under monitoring for alleged involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs in the area.

The buy-bust operation was led by PS2-SDET under the supervision of PLT Raven V. Payang and the direct supervision of Police Major Ray Aron D. Elona, station commander of Police Station 2. The operation was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region IV-B or MIMAROPA.

Police seized two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of about 1.49 grams. The seized drugs, including plastic and tape markings, were estimated to be worth ₱10,132.00. Authorities also recovered the buy-bust money consisting of one ₱100.00 bill and ₱1,000.00 in boodle money.

The suspect is now in police custody while documents are being prepared for inquest proceedings for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. All seized items were properly marked, inventoried, and will be submitted for forensic examination.

Police Major Elona said the operation shows the station’s continuing campaign against illegal drugs.

“The success of this operation shows our firm commitment, together with PDEA, to fight illegal drugs in our community. We will not stop conducting operations to ensure the safety of our people,” Elona said.

Police Station 2 said the anti-illegal drugs campaign remains a priority as part of the Philippine National Police’s efforts to maintain peace and order and keep Puerto Princesa City drug-free.
