PNP places Malolos officer under restrictive custody after viral video

A police corporal in Malolos City has been removed from his post and placed under custody after a CCTV video allegedly showing him involved in domestic violence circulated online.

In a statement, the Malolos City Police Station said the policeman is now under investigation and is being held at the station’s holding unit while authorities gather statements and evidence related to the incident.

“Kaugnay ng kumakalat na viral CCTV footage/video na kinasasangkutan ng isang pulis, nais po naming ipabatid sa publiko na ang naturang personnel ay kasalukuyang relieved sa kanyang pwesto at naka-hold na sa Malolos Station Holding Unit,” the station said.

Police said the officer’s issued firearm and police identification card were also confiscated during the investigation.

The station condemned violence against women and stressed that violations of the law and police regulations would not be tolerated.

“Mariing kinokondena ng Malolos PNP ang anumang uri ng karahasan laban sa sinuman, lalo na sa mga kababaihan. Hindi po kinukunsinti ng aming tanggapan ang anumang paglabag sa batas at sa mga umiiral na alituntunin ng Philippine National Police,” police said.

Authorities also confirmed that the alleged victim has already gone to the police station to prepare the filing of charges against the officer.

“Ang biktima ay kasalukuyan nang nasa himpilan ng Malolos City Police Station para sa pagsasampa ng kaukulang kaso laban sa naturang pulis,” according to the statement.

In a separate social media post, the woman believed to be the victim posted publicly about her alleged experience, accusing the officer of years of emotional distress and mistreatment.

“Ilang taon ako nag tiis at pakikisama sayo! Hindi ako nag salita kahit ako yung binabaliktad mo at ako yung sinisira mo!” she wrote.

She also claimed she had remained silent for a long time and said she now wanted to defend herself publicly.

“Wala akong katahimikan sayo hangang ngayon! Marami pa akong dapat ipaliwanag dito manlang mapag tangol ko sarili ko,” she added.

The Philippine National Police earlier said the officer was placed under restrictive custody pending the outcome of both administrative and criminal investigations.

Police urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation online and to allow authorities to complete the legal process.
