The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Palawan conducted a series of integrated program activities and monitoring and evaluation efforts in the municipalities of Taytay and San Vicente from April 20 to 24 to assess and strengthen local health services.
In Taytay, activities included the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) orientation, along with Operation Timbang (OPT) validation in Barangays Cataban, Bantulan, and Pamantolon.
The PHO also carried out monitoring and functionality assessments of the Field Health Services Information System (FHSIS) and Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (ESU) of the Municipal Health Office (MHO) Taytay and the Northern Palawan Provincial Hospital.
PHO personnel also served as resource speakers during the “Biyaheng Karunungan: Health Advocacy Caravan” in Barangay Poblacion, where discussions on diet and exercise were conducted for parents and children in coordination with the MHO Taytay.
Similar activities were implemented in San Vicente, including MELLPI provincial validation at the Municipal Nutrition Office and in Barangay Alimanguan, as well as OPT validation in Barangays New Canipo and Sto. Niño. Monitoring and functionality assessments were likewise conducted for the FHSIS and ESU of the MHO San Vicente and San Vicente District Hospital.
The PHO said the continued provision of technical assistance to municipalities forms part of efforts to expand and improve healthcare services across Palawan.
The activities were carried out in coordination with the Provincial Department of Health Office Palawan, local health and nutrition offices, district hospitals, and barangay nutrition scholars.
