The Palawan Provincial Government-Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) received three coveted awards at the Philippine League of Local Environment & Natural Resources Officers (PLLENRO) Search for Gawad Galing Kalikasan 2024.
The awarding ceremony took place on August 13, during the 15th PLLENRO National Convention in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
PG-ENRO, led by Provincial ENRO chief Atty. Noel Aquino, was recognized for its environmental programs, including the Provincial Entry for Environmental Programs, the Forest Resources Management Program Entry, and Gawad Kalinisan at Kamalayan.
The awards highlight the office’s initiatives, such as Pista ng Kalikasan, Ecological Solid Waste Management, and Community-Based Forest Management, all of which contribute significantly to maintaining a clean and green environment in Palawan.
Atty. Aquino noted that the recognition serves as motivation to further enhance their environmental efforts.
“Ang parangal ay magsisilbing dagdag na inspirasyon para mas pahusayin pa ang mga konsepto at programa ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan para sa kalikasan sa pangunguna ni Gov. Dennis Socrates,” Aquino said.
The Gawad Galing Kalikasan 2024 aims to honor local governments with outstanding environmental programs.
The convention was attended by PG-ENRO staff and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officers (MENROs) from across the province.
