In a bid to enhance waste management efforts and foster a cleaner environment in El Nido, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) formally handed over three new chariot vehicles to the barangay captains of Maligaya, Masagana, and Buena Swerte on October 31.
PG-ENRO said the vehicles, provided through a collaboration between them and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation, will support the municipality’s “Zero Waste Project.”
The initiative, part of a broader PG-ENRO program, seeks to maintain community cleanliness and reduce land and marine pollution by harnessing public and private sector cooperation.
Each barangay also received an incentive package, including 100 kilograms of rice and school supplies, to encourage residents to collect and turn in plastic bottles at designated collection points.
