The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) completed on Friday its delivery of personal protective equipments (PPE) and disinfectants in the Calamianes Islands to support its frontliners in local hospitals and checkpoints.

PDRRMO head Jeremias Alili said the combined PPEs and disinfectants came from the provincial government, the Department of Health (DOH), and those procured by local government units themselves from suppliers in the city.

“Ang iba ay nanggaling sa DOH, ang sa provincial government at yong iba ay yong mga binili ng LGU galing Puerto at in-assist natin sila na maihatid sa kanilang lugar sa pamamagitan ng ating speed boats,” he said.

He said that they are distributing the same supplies to southern towns of Palawan towns.

“Tuloy-tuloy ito, the other day ay hinatid din natin yong para sa southern Palawan kasama dito yong disinfectant, alcohols, PPEs and may mga spray cans tayong pinadala para magamit nila sa pag-spray at pag-disinfect ng kanilang lugar especially ng hospitals,” he said.

Alili said the PPEs they are receiving for distribution are coming in small batches, but they have decided to pass them on immediately to the frontliners.

“Kahit kaunti lang ay dini-deliver agad natin kahit medyo matrabaho on our part. Naiintindihan natin yong feelings ng ating frontliners sa hospitals at yong sa checkpoints na kailangan nila ng gamit,” he said.

Alili assured frontliners that once PPEs and disinfectants arrive at the PDRRMO, they immediately send these to towns for their use on the following day.

“Iyon ang isang challenge dahil yong iba ay nanggagaling pa sa Manila but with the help na rin ng assets ni governor ay nakukuha natin at nadi-deliver natin sa malalayong lugar yong PPEs at disinfectants natin,” he said.
