The Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) has launched a creative contest open to all Palaweno artists as part of the 28th year anniversary of Republic Act 7611 or the Strategic Environmental Plan (SEP) law.

The four contest categories are:
1.) PCSDS Hymn-Songwriting Contest
2.) Musikalikasan (Rap Singing and Composition Contest)
3.) PALAraWAN (Photography Contest)
4.) Poster-making Contest

The poster making and the photography contest has the theme “Time for Nature.”

The poster making contest is grouped into two divisions — Junior (ages 10-14) and Senior (15-18). Poster entries should be 18×24 inches, done on canvas or illustration board, then submitted to the PCSD officer personally. The entry must also have a slogan or tagline with a 50-100-word description of the work.

The photography contest, also grouped into “amateur” and “pro” categories, may be submitted online on or before June 16, 1PM.

The rap contest calls for 30-second to two and a half minute compositions, which may be in English, Filipino, or Taglish. Beats used to compose the rap composition are not required to be original if these are not subject to existing copyright restrictions.

For the songwriting contest, the winning piece will become the official PCSD anthem.

The PCSD Secretariat said that prizes for the various contests will be announced separately.
