Barangay health workers in the island towns of Cagayancillo and Aborlan underwent training under the Department of Health’s PuroKalusugan Program as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots healthcare services in Palawan.
The Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) Palawan conducted the PuroKalusugan Job Guide Orientation on May 26, bringing together barangay health workers from different communities for training on the implementation of the program.
DOH-deployed nurses and midwives led the orientation, focusing on improving the capacity of frontline health workers to deliver basic healthcare services and health monitoring at the purok or community level.
The activity forms part of the intensified rollout of the PuroKalusugan Program, a Department of Health initiative aimed at making healthcare services more accessible in communities, particularly in remote areas.
PDOHO Palawan said the program also seeks to strengthen preventive healthcare efforts and encourage greater community participation in local health programs.
Photos released by PDOHO Palawan showed health workers participating in discussions and orientation sessions during the rollout activities.
