Palawan is expected to have mostly clear skies on Tuesday, with the possibility of occasional thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, said the state weather bureau.
Chenel Dominguez, weather specialist for PAGASA, said that there are no tropical storms or low-pressure areas that are being tracked right now, either inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
But rain will fall in different parts of the country because of different weather patterns.
“Para naman dito sa may Palawan, Visayas, at nalalabing bahagi ng Mindanao, asahan naman natin ang maaliwalas na panahon pero may mga localized thunderstorms po tayo. Pagdating sa hapon at sa gabi, asahan din natin frequent din itong mga localized thunderstorms,” Dominguez said.
The northeast monsoon continues to be active, mostly impacting Extreme Northern Luzon, resulting in overcast conditions and precipitation in Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao.
The shear line is affecting weather conditions in Isabela and Aurora, where sporadic rain showers are anticipated.
Dominguez said the weather will continue to be hot and humid throughout the majority of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and there is a strong probability that there will be isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
There will be sporadic rain showers in Mindanao as a result of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), mainly in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat regions.
Sea conditions are typically safe, she said, since PAGASA has not issued any gale warnings. Dominguez cautioned those with small boats to exercise cautious, nevertheless, as severe winds and unexpected thunderstorms are still a possibility.
