Tourism establishments in Puerto Princesa City and Coron brought regional recognition to Palawan after earning awards at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026 in Cebu.
Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa secured two distinctions under ASEAN standards. Its Hari and Reyna Hall was named among the ASEAN Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions Standard Venue Awardees, while the Sooloo Rooftop Ballroom and Sala Garden received an ASEAN Event Venue Awards.
Discovery Coron, meanwhile, was recognized under the 10th ASEAN Green Hotel Awards, which honors hotels that implement sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the awards demonstrate the sustained commitment of industry stakeholders to meet regional standards and support national efforts to strengthen tourism.
“Each recognition reflects commitment sustained over time, standards honored consistently, decisions guided responsibly, and service delivered with consistent excellence. Through your work, confidence in Asean tourism grows stronger, and the reputation of our region continues to rise,” Frasco said during the program.
The ASEAN Tourism Forum gathers tourism officials and private sector leaders across Southeast Asia to promote cooperation and elevate service quality, with Palawan among the Philippine destinations gaining regional recognition this year.
