Palawan prov’l board commends INC for recent nationwide event

The Palawan Provincial Board has acknowledged the Iglesia ni Cristo religious organization after it conducted a national peace rally where nearly 1.5 million members from different parts of the country participated yesterday, January 13.

In Palawan, Junction 1 in the heart of Puerto Princesa City became a focal point as a huge crown of INC members gathered to take part in the nationwide rally for peace.

During the event, the Christian religious organization expressed its support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for Congress to dismiss the impeachment process against Vice President Sara Duterte.

At least three impeachment complaints against the Vice President Duterte were filed by various groups in the House of Representatives in 2024.

In a privilege speech during their regular session on Tuesday, 3rd District’s lone Board Member Rafael Ortega Jr. said the INC activity was an important gathering where the church’s voice reinforced calls for unity and peace in the country. He noted that convening such a large number of members was no easy task, but the INC successfully managed to do so to express their sentiments.

He further stated that while the activity undeniably carried political undertones, it provided a “valuable platform” to raise concerns about peace and unity for the country’s betterment.
