The provincial board (PB) has approved the annual budgets of three towns in southern Palawan.

Board member Leoncio Ola, chairman of the committee on appropriations, said the budgets of the towns of Narra, Bataraza, and Balabac for 2019 were approved Tuesday.

Approved were P362 million for Narra, P393 million for Bataraza and P177 million for Balabac.

“The annual budgets of different local government units for 2019 have already met the requirements and passed the committee on appropriations,” he said.

The approved budgets include allocations for Gender and development, peace and order, municipal nutrition plan, municipal disaster and risk reduction management (MDRRM), senior citizens, and persons with disability.

The provincial budget officer in a letter to the PB said the appropriation ordinance is declared operative and should follow the requirements of the Department of Budget (DBM).

“Appropriation ordinance of the following towns is declared operative in its entirety as the date of its effectivity, subject to posting requirements and other existing budgetary policies, rules and regulations issued by the DBM,” the letter stated.
