Palawan 1st District Representative Rosalie “Mommy Rose” Salvame has successfully passed and received recognition for House Bill 3456, which mandates the installation and use of solar streetlights across the province of Palawan.
The bill was approved by the Committee on Energy of the House of Representatives.
In her explanation before the committee, Salvame highlighted Palawan’s international recognition as one of the “World’s Best Islands,” recently featured in the US News and World Report for its thriving tourism, pristine environment, and commitment to sustainable development, particularly in Northern Palawan.
The measure aims to improve public safety, enhance community well-being, and support renewable energy initiatives while boosting Palawan’s tourism industry.
