The state weather bureau said Wednesday it is closely monitoring a cloud cluster outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that could develop into a low-pressure area within the next 24 to 36 hours.
Lori Dela Cruz-Galicia, weather specialist from DOST-PAGASA, said the cluster was observed near the eastern boundary of PAR. “
Ngayon ay wala tayong LPA sa loob ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) pero sa labas po… sa Silangang bahagi ng bansa, malapit ito sa eastern boundary ng ating PAR, ay may na-monitor tayong cloud cluster at may posibilidad at hindi natin nero-rule out ang possibility na mabuo ito bilang isang LPA in the next 24-36 hours,” she explained.
While there is no tropical cyclone affecting the country, Galicia said the easterlies remain the dominant weather system. These winds are bringing cloudy skies and rain showers to parts of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
She said residents in Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, the Bicol region, and Marinduque should prepare for cloudy skies with high chances of rain throughout the day.
In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, but localized thunderstorms remain likely in the afternoon and evening.
Galicia said generally fair weather will prevail over many areas in the Visayas and Mindanao, but isolated thunderstorms remain possible, especially late in the day. In Palawan, conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy with possible localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said Wednesday’s temperatures may range between:
– Metro Manila: 24°C to 31°C
– Baguio City: 17°C to 23°C
– Laoag City: 24°C to 32°C
– Tuguegarao City: 24°C to 33°C

– Tagaytay City: 22°C to 29°C
– Tacloban City: 24°C to 31°C

No gale warning is raised over the country’s seaboards. Seas will be slight to moderate nationwide, but PAGASA reminded small fishing boats and other sea vessels to take extra caution.
Galicia said thunderstorms are still possible over coastal waters, which may cause rough seas in localized areas.
