More than 35,000 residents in Puerto Princesa have been fully immunized against COVID-19 since the city government rolled out its vaccination campaign in March this year.

The Puerto Princesa City Covac, in a post on its social media page on September 1, said that 35,620 residents had been completely vaccinated between March and August 2021.

The figure reflects almost 18% of the 201,000 individuals the city government aims to vaccinate in order to achieve the herd effect.

Meanwhile, the PPC Covac said that 51,607 individuals had already received their first doses of vaccines within the same time period.

As of August 11, 2021, the Philippines has registered a total of 26,127,502 vaccine doses in the country’s national immunization campaign against COVID-19, with more than 12 million Filipinos having been completely immunized.

In a safety officer webinar on Tuesday, August 31, Incident Management Team (IMT) commander Dr. Dean Palanca said the mega-vaccination site at the City Coliseum would take any category from Tuesdays through Saturday afternoons, as long as walk-ins have QR codes.

“Willing na ang City Coliseum magtanggap ng mga walk-in. Ang maganda lang na mayroon tayong QR code. Kahit wala ka pang schedule, kahit A5 ka pa, ipakita lang ninyo ang QR code ninyo. ‘Yong mga wala pang QR code, mag-register na,” he said.

Second doses of Pfizer and Sinovac will be administered on September 2 at the City Coliseum mega-vaccination site and at SM City Puerto Princesa. The recipients of Gamaleya Sputnik V’s second dosage, on the other hand, have yet to be scheduled.
