The City Council has passed a resolution urging the administration to establish a “One-Stop-Shop” for all clearances required by public and private employers to make it easy for job seekers.
Councilor Modesto Rodriguez, author of the resolution, said all agencies issuing clearances like the police, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), mayor’s office, and others should be in one place for easy access.
It is all about convenience for the people, he said.
The ideal area is the City Hall if not the city government building in Mendoza Park.
The Mendoza Park is at the center of the city and is accessible to the public, Rodriguez said.
He said the Sanggunian Draft Resolution (SDR) No. 501-2019 is supported by his own draft ordinance (SDO) No. 408-2019 that aims to make permanent the establishment and operation of this one-stop shop indicated in the resolution.
The ordinance has been referred to the Committee on Labor and Employment.
