The National Food Authority (NFA) Palawan is stepping up coordination with private rice millers in the province to ensure more efficient and standardized milling operations ahead of the upcoming palay processing activities.
As part of preparations, NFA Palawan Branch Manager Osmundo R. Guinto, Jr. and Assistant Branch Manager Julius Lopez visited two private milling contractors in Bataraza—Almirante Ricemill and Gillita Ricemill—to directly discuss operational readiness and align procedures with agency standards.
During the visit, the NFA officials emphasized the importance of clear coordination and strict adherence to guidelines to ensure that milling operations are carried out efficiently and in accordance with government requirements.
The engagement reflects the agency’s push to strengthen public–private cooperation in the rice supply chain, particularly in improving the flow of palay procurement, milling, and quality control systems in the province.
Officials said closer coordination with private millers is expected to help streamline operations, reduce delays, and ensure more consistent rice processing outcomes that support local supply needs.
The NFA reiterated that strengthening partnerships with milling contractors remains key to maintaining an organized and reliable grain management system in Palawan.
