The Social Security System has opened an office in Roxas municipality in northern Palawan to make services more accessible to residents in the area and nearby towns.
Social Security System (SSS) Puerto Princesa Branch expects that the newly opened SSS service office will serve over 30,000 members and employers from the town’s 31 barangays.
Puerto Princesa City branch head Abdultalib A. Abirin said that the opening of a new SSS service center is a significant step towards improved service delivery in Northern Palawan. This office will also serve the members and employers of the nearby towns like Dumaran, Araceli and San Vicente.
“Members and employers need not travel 83 kilometers or over an hour of land travel to reach the Taytay Service Office for their SSS transactions. The new office will also be convenient for members and employers in nearby towns such as Dumaran, Araceli, and San Vicente,” Abirin explained.
On the other hand, Roxas mayor Dennis M. Sabando is very grateful that SSS brings their services closer to the citizens, especially workers, self-employed individuals, and small business owners in the town and surrounding areas.
“This will make it easier and faster to process benefits such as retirement, sickness, maternity, disability, and other social security claims. The new office also aims to expand public awareness about their rights and benefits as SSS members.” Sabando said.
The SSS-Roxas operates every third week of the month from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m., and can accommodate an average of 500 transactions daily.
Among the services offered in said service office include updating of member records, Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) compliance, receipt of pension loan application, and employer registration. (PIA)
