A new project manager has taken over the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center (PWRCC) following a leadership transition facilitated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) MIMAROPA, as the agency seeks to strengthen conservation efforts and institutional partnerships in the region.
Atty. Salvador C. Malana III formally assumed the role under Natural Resources Development Corporation (NRDC) Special Order No. 2026-05, with a mandate to enhance operations, enforce environmental compliance, and expand conservation and development programs at the facility.
He replaces Palawan PENRO Felizardo B. Cayatoc, who stepped down after years of service marked by initiatives in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and partnership-building. Cayatoc was awarded a certificate of commendation in recognition of his contributions to the center.
The turnover ceremony, led by DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director Felix S. Mirasol Jr. and NRDC President Judge Benjamin D. Turgano (Ret), included the formal transfer of operational control, accountability, and key documents.
Officials from DENR MIMAROPA and NRDC, including CENRO Taytay Conrad Corpuz, attended the event, signaling continued inter-agency support for the center’s programs.
DENR MIMAROPA said the transition is part of ongoing efforts to reinforce collaboration and improve the delivery of wildlife conservation initiatives in Palawan.
