The newly installed Puerto Princesa City Fire Marshal emphasized the importance of unity to effectively fulfill their mandate of protecting the community against fire and other emergencies.
Fire Chief Inspector Angel Lynn Salvador, the city’s first-ever female fire chief, was introduced during the city government’s flag-raising ceremony. She expressed gratitude and called on her colleagues to work together beyond their responsibilities of responding to emergencies.
“We are entrusted with a broader role, one that includes supporting the local government’s programs aimed at enhancing the welfare of the community. This means collaborating on initiatives that promote fire safety, preventive measures, and overall community resilience,” she said.
Salvador also said they need to work hand in hand with local authorities to ensure a safer and more secure environment for every citizen.
She reminded her colleagues to stay focused on their goals as their job demands precision, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
“Let’s set clear objectives and work together to achieve them. Our strength lies in our unity. When we support one another, we amplify our effectiveness. Let’s remain vigilant, work diligently, and continue to serve with excellence in our endeavors,” she said, noting that collective efforts help them perform their jobs better and “make us a formidable force in protecting our community.”
She also highlighted an essential aspect of her role as the first female fire marshal, emphasizing the value of their skills, dedication, and contributions, regardless of their background. She urged her colleagues to always focus on the value of their work and the strength of their teamwork.
“I stand here not just as a representative of the BFP but as a testament to the fact that capability and dedication know no gender. Every firefighter, regardless of gender, contributes equally to our mission,” she stressed.
“Let’s continue to support and uplift each other, breaking down barriers, and setting an example for our future generations,” she added.
The lady fire chief then challenged her colleagues to look forward to a new and better chapter in their jobs “with a shared vision and renewed determination.”
“We can always start anew. The work we do is vital, and the stakes are high. Let’s move forward with confidence and commitment, knowing that our efforts make a real difference. Thank you for your dedication and unwavering support, and let us make this chapter one of our finest,” she concluded
