The municipal government of Narra conducted a test milling operation of its Rice Processing System II (RPS II) facility as part of preparations for the upcoming cropping season.
According to the National Food Authority (NFA)–Palawan, the milling activity was witnessed by the Branch Committee, demonstrating the facility’s operational readiness.
The RPS II was provided to Narra by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PhilMech) to support local rice production.
The LGU also expressed interest in collaborating with the NFA to conduct rice milling of NFA palay through the facility.
“Layunin nito makalikha ng karagdagang espasyo sa mga bodega bilang paghahanda sa nalalapit na cropping season,” the release said.
The NFA stressed that the activity is part of its continuing preparations to ensure a sufficient and high-quality rice supply, especially during calamities, and to support the implementation of the ₱20 Rice Program.
