The Narra Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) is in need of more volunteers to join their team.
Raymund Dela Rosa, Narra MDRRMO chief told Palawan News they have launched a “massive recruitment” of volunteer responders that will be trained to respond to various incidents.
“Unang una, parang massive recruitment ang ating gagawin, afterwards i-tetrain natin sila sa basic life support and first aid muna kung mapipili sila doon so tatanggapin natin as volunteer responders, they will be part of the Narra Emergency Response Team,” he said.
After the basic life support and first aid, Dela Rosa said the selected volunteers will also be trained in Urban Search and Rescue, Water Search and Rescue and High Angle Rescue.
Volunteers must be physically and mentally fit, willing to be trained and must be 18-30 years old.
Dela Rosa said the selected volunteers will be given annual insurance and will have series of trainings as benefits.
“We are working on the incentives, what we can promise is may insurance sila every year and we will update their training yearly hindi din basta basta ibinibigay ang trainings lalo na technical rescue trainings ito ang kanilang matututunan ay malaking bagay, lalo na sa mga gustong mag- pulis halimbawa,” he said.
He said the job is not a full-time but only during emergency cases.
The recruitment starts on the third week of August.
