A motorcycle rider died at a hospital after his motorcycle collided head-on with a delivery van along the national road in Barangay Iraan, Rizal late Saturday night, July 25, the Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO) said Sunday.
The collision occurred at around 11:10 p.m. while the rider, identified only as alias “Jack,” 24, was traveling toward Barangay Iraan.
Police said the motorcycle was traveling at high speed when it overshot a curve and struck the front bumper of an oncoming J&T Express delivery van bound for Barangay Punta Baja.
The impact threw the rider and his motorcycle to the side of the road. He suffered a severe head injury and was taken to Rizal District Hospital, where he later died.
The van driver, identified as alias “Dino,” 34, was unharmed.
Both vehicles sustained damage and were brought to the Rizal Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
