The Puerto Princesa City Traffic and Management Office (CTMO) will conduct a dry run of a new one-way traffic scheme on Manalo street on July 22.

Engr. Jonathan Magay, CTMO officer in charge, told Palawan News on Thursday that the proposed one-way traffic scheme was based on a request by three schools located along Manalo Street, and is intended to decongest traffic in the area.

The one-way proposal will cover Manalo Street, Rengel Street and Villarosa Streets and will last for a week then it will be implemented from Villanueva to Rengel in the succeeding week, he said.

Aside from the one-way scheme, the CTMO will enforce a truck ban on Manalo Street during week days, wirh Abad Santos Street as an alternative route for trucks.

Magay also said they will ask the telecom companies to lift their cables along the area because they are sagging and slowing down traffic in some areas.

He said a stakeholders meeting is scheduled on July 17 to discuss the the plan before its enforcement on July 22.
