Authorities arrested a man in Barangay Pangobilian, Brooke’s Point on Tuesday, February 3, in connection with rape cases filed against him.
Police identified the suspect as Jun Myrick Dangan, 22, resident of Barangay Mambalot.
The arrest was carried out by the Brooke’s Point police, with support from the PNP Special Operations Unit (2nd SOU-MG), Special Boat Unit Balabac, Marine Battalion Landing Team-11, and the Regional Intelligence Unit. The warrant of arrest was issued by Presiding Judge Ramon Chito Mendoza of RTC Branch 165 on July 21, 2025.
Dangan faces three cases, including two counts of rape with bail set at ₱120,000 each.
He also faces a charge for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 7610, or acts of lasciviousness, with bail set at ₱200,000. No bail was recommended for the statutory rape case.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Brooke’s Point Municipal Police Station for documentation and booking procedures.
Police said they will submit a return of warrant to the court to confirm that the suspect has been arrested.
