Man in San Jose boarding house shot and wounded

Three men barged into a boarding house in Barangay San Jose on Sunday and shot a resident while he was cooking food.

A regional police spot report identified the victim as Abdurassid Gonzales, 31, from Sofronio Española.

The police has identified one of the three attackers of Gonzales, a certain Weng Monserate, who resides in the nearby Carlo Village.

Police Major Lorence Bataller, station commander of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office Station 1, said Gonzales was cooking dinner when the suspects barged into his home and shot him four times.

The suspect fled with two others after perpetrating the alleged crime.

Bataller said they are still investigating the case to determine the identities of the two other suspects for their immediate arrest.

“‘Yong motive hindi pa namin ma-establish, pina-follow up pa nga namin ‘yan. May identity na sa victim ang mga suspek pero hindi niya pa mai-reveal sa amin kasi hanggang ngayon nasa ospital pa rin siya,” he said.

He also added that due to the victim’s condition, they could not yet get a precise statement from him.
