The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Palawan Law Enforcement Team is stepping up its campaign against traffic law violators in the province.
Karen Baculo, senior transportation regulation officer of LTO Palawan, said their operations continue even on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure all motorists follow traffic rules.
Lahat ‘yan, especially ‘yung may initial violation tayo.
Their team is targeting drivers without licenses, with expired or missing registration, those not wearing standard safety helmets, overloading, and other violations. They also conduct random inspections on other vehicles.
“May random inspection din tayo. Kahit wala silang violation, puwede kaming mag-inspect at mag-flag down ng mga sasakyan para i-check kung naka-rehistro o hindi,” she added.
Baculo called on all drivers to follow the law for everyone’s safety on the road.
Baculo explained that their daily operations are meant for the safety of all motorists. She said having three people on a motorcycle is prohibited, even if one is a child, and many drivers are unaware of this rule. Only two riders are allowed.
A child may ride at the back as long as they can reach the foot peg and wear a proper helmet.
The use of “bao” helmets is also not allowed, even for passengers.
