LPA spotted west northwest of Puerto Princesa City

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a weather forecast Sunday morning that MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

A low-pressure area (LPA) system has been spotted by the state weather bureau 420 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City.

Residents in these areas, PAGASA said, are warned to be careful against possible flash floods and landslides.

The northeast monsoon or amihan will also bring cloudy skies with light rain showers in the Cordillera Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora province.

The weather bureau said cloudy skies with rain showers due to localized thunderstorms will also prevail in Metro Manila and the country.
