A low pressure area (LPA) has been spotted outside the country’s area of responsibility at 26o kilometers northwest of Pag-asa Island, Palawan, in the West Philippine Sea.
However, PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said it has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone as it moves to Vietnam.
“Makakapekto na lamang ito o yung trough, extension at mga kaulapan, nagdala ng low pressure area, ay nakakapekto, partikular na dito sa may katimugang bahagi ng Palawan,” weather specialist Obet Badrina reported Wednesday morning.
“Samantala, posible naman by tomorrow ay mababawasan na yung mga pag-ulan dito sa southern part ng Palawan,” he added.
Meanwhile, the shear line is causing rainfall over Aurora, Quezon, and Isabela.
The northeast monsoon will bring modest rain to the Cagayan Valley Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
The Ilocos Region and the remainder of Central Luzon will see mild weather with a few light showers. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are possible in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol Region.
Badrina said that compared to the previous days, there has been less rain in Bicol.
By Thursday, the weather is predicted to improve.
The Visayas and Mindanao are being impacted by the easterlies, which are causing the sky to be gloomy and bringing sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms.
There is a possibility of flash floods and landslides in Mindanao due to the anticipated moderate to heavy rains.
