Barangay health workers and local health personnel in Linapacan underwent nutrition trainings and planning workshops as the Provincial Government of Palawan moves to strengthen maternal and child health programs at the grassroots level.
The trainings covered Maternal Nutrition, Infant and Young Child Feeding (MIYCF), and the formulation of Barangay Nutrition Action Plans (BNAP) aligned with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN), which guide local strategies to address malnutrition.
Organizers said the sessions were designed to improve how barangay nutrition workers design and implement interventions, particularly for pregnant women, infants, and young children, and to strengthen planning systems at the barangay level.
Resource speakers came from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO).
The provincial government said the activity forms part of its broader health and nutrition initiatives under the PALAWAN+PLUS Development Agenda of Gov. Amy Roa Alvarez, implemented in coordination with municipal governments across the province.
