The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Palawan said the distribution of electronic land titles and the condonation of nearly ₱23.9 million in agrarian debts mark a major step in securing land tenure and easing financial burdens for farmers across the province.
The activity was held on December 26, 2025, in Puerto Princesa City and implemented under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project. DAR Palawan distributed 439 e-titles covering 835.1962 hectares to 416 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
“More than just numbers, this day marked renewed hope and dignity for hundreds of Palawan farmers,” DAR Palawan said in a press release, citing years and even generations of waiting for formal land ownership.
The agency said the titles give farmers legal security over the land they cultivate, enabling them to plan, invest, and improve their livelihoods.
“Today, those long-held dreams of owning the land they till finally became a reality, empowering ARBs to plan, invest, and build a more stable future for their families,” the press release said.
In the same activity, DAR Palawan also distributed 1,027 Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) covering 684.0496 hectares to 757 ARBs. The certificates condoned a total of ₱23,898,392.25 in unpaid land amortization.
“This intervention lifted a heavy financial burden from the shoulders of farmer-beneficiaries,” the agency said, adding that the debt relief allows farmers to redirect income toward farm productivity, education, and an improved quality of life.
DAR Palawan said the combined distribution of land titles and COCROMs reflects its commitment to people-centered agrarian reform in the province.
“Together, these accomplishments reflect DAR Palawan’s steadfast commitment to people-centered agrarian reform, one that recognizes land not merely as an asset, but as a foundation for dignity, opportunity, and lasting peace in rural communities,” the agency said.
The agency added that empowering farmers strengthens their role in local development and supports sustainable growth in Palawan.
“When farmers are empowered and supported, they become stronger partners in nation-building and champions of sustainable development in Palawan,” DAR Palawan said.
