Joint police units arrest three in Puerto Princesa anti-drug operation

Three drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by police on the night of April 13, 2026, in Barangay San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City.

The operation took place at around 9:45 p.m. along Purok Pag-asa, Libis Road, targeting individuals identified by their aliases “Pedyong,” “Ton-ton,” and “Rey.”

The buy-bust was led by the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit under the supervision of PCPT Bryan T. Rayoso, in coordination with the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group SOU 4B Team 4, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency MIMAROPA–Palawan Provincial Office, the PNP Maritime Group SOU 4B, and the City Anti-Crime Task Force.

Operatives carried out a controlled purchase through a poseur-buyer, which resulted in the sale of two sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of 1.34 grams.

The suspects were arrested immediately after the transaction. Authorities recovered the buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia, including an improvised water pipe, aluminum foil strips with residue, and a disposable lighter.

Police said all seized items were marked, inventoried, and documented at the place of arrest in accordance with Republic Act No. 9165, in the presence of a media representative and a barangay kagawad.

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights in a language known to them.

They are now detained at Police Station 2 and will undergo drug testing, while the confiscated substances will be submitted for laboratory examination.

Charges for violations of Sections 5, 12, and 26(b), Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared against them.

PCOL Dennis L. De Leon, acting city director, reaffirmed the Puerto Princesa City Police Office’s campaign against illegal drugs.

“Hindi titigil ang PPCPO sa pagpapatupad ng batas laban sa ilegal na droga. Patuloy naming palalakasin ang aming operasyon upang maprotektahan ang komunidad at mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa lungsod,” De Leon said.
