A man allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in front of J1, San Miguel, Puerto Princesa City, early this morning, October 1. The incident was reportedly triggered by jealousy.
The Puerto Princesa City Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) said in a post on We R1 At Your Service Official that a concerned citizen approached their team while they were returning from their duty to report a fight between two people.
The team immediately went to the location, where they found San Miguel barangay officials already on the scene.
The officials confirmed it was a dispute between the couple.
The woman, identified as Princess, 21, a resident of Barangay Bacungan, stated that her boyfriend, identified as Jason, 25, became jealous after she spoke to another man at J1. He then allegedly struck her in the mouth.
When questioned by authorities, Jason could not provide a clear explanation for his actions.
Princess was escorted by the barangay officials to the barangay hall to file a complaint. The couple was then turned over to Barangay San Miguel for proper disposition.
