More than 200 years after Jane Austen introduced readers to the Dashwood sisters, Sense and Sensibility is returning to the big screen in a new adaptation that will open in Philippine cinemas on October 28.
The film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood and Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne Dashwood, sisters whose lives are turned upside down after their family’s fortunes change.
As they navigate love and heartbreak, the two must balance reason and emotion in a society shaped by class and expectation.
Directed by Georgia Oakley from a screenplay by Diana Reid, the film also stars Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, George MacKay, and Fiona Shaw.
Produced by Focus Features and Working Title Films, the adaptation presents a fresh take on Austen’s first published novel, which remains one of the author’s most enduring works.
