The Iwahig Corrections Facility (ICF) personnel and staff performed the “COVID-19 fight dance” on Black Saturday morning at the central sub-colony in Barangay Iwahig to show support to the frontliners risking their lives against the virus.
ICF information officer CTO II Levi Evangelista said that it was an idea initiated by ICF Supt. Raul Levita with some penal prison employees from the sub-colonies of Inagawan, Sta. Lucia, Iwahig, and Montible.
“Ito ay in support of the people na nagmamalasakit sa kapwa sa mga doctors nurses, police, uniformed personnel including barangay officials,” he said.
He said all 279 ICF employees from four sub-colonies will also perform the COVID-19 fight dance at the parade ground on Monday with social distancing.

Evangelista added the ICF management has tightened its security to ensure that the virus will not spread inside the penal institution.
About 2,806 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) are currently committed inside the four sub-colonies of ICF.
