Government agencies delivered on-site services to more than 1,500 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries in some of the farthest communities of Balabac during a four day Intervention Caravan from December 2 to 5.
Teams visited Barangays Salang, Agutayan, Poblacion I, and Bancalaan to reach households that often travel long distances to access documents and healthcare. The initiative was led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office MIMAROPA through the 4Ps program.
Residents were able to register for the National ID, secure birth and marriage certificates, receive free medical consultations and medicines through the Municipal Health Office, and open savings accounts and additional life insurance with support from the Metro Ormoc Community Multi Purpose Cooperative.
4Ps MOO Balabac coordinated the caravan with the local government of Balabac and agencies including PHILSYS, the Municipal Civil Registrar, Municipal Health Office, OCCCI, and barangay officials to ensure wide coverage of services.
The caravan aims to reduce the burden on families living in geographically isolated communities by bringing public services directly to them. Organizers said more trips are planned to expand assistance and ensure no household is left behind.
