The Tabon Cave Complex and Lipuun Point in Quezon emerged as Southern Palawan’s top destination for day trips, drawing 23,582 visitors during the first half of 2026.
Figures released by the Palawan Provincial Tourism Office (PPTO) showed that the archaeological and cultural site attracted more same-day visitors than the region’s waterfalls, resorts and agricultural tourism farms.
The data were obtained through the Tourism Live Inventory of Statistics and Tourist Arrivals Application, or TourLISTA. Visitor arrivals were recorded at each attraction following the International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics 2008.
The management of the Tabon Cave Complex welcomed the turnout, saying the figures reflect continued interest among Filipino and foreign visitors.
“More than the numbers and statistics, it is a great honor for us to welcome visitors from different parts of the Philippines and the world. We remain committed to providing a meaningful experience at the museum and the Tabon Caves while promoting appreciation of the Outstanding Universal Value of Tabon Cave and the entire Lipuun Point,” the management said.
Estrella Falls in Narra ranked second with 16,686 visitors.
Two agricultural tourism destinations in Brooke’s Point followed. Tanging Yaman Farm and Resort recorded 12,335 visitors, while Lotus Garden and Agri Farm received 12,020.
Edna’s Garden in Narra placed fifth with 10,894 visitors.
The five attractions recorded a combined 75,517 visits during the six-month period. The figure represents visits rather than individual tourists, as one person may have visited more than one attraction.
The PPTO defines a same-day visitor, also called an excursionist, as a domestic or foreign traveler who visits a place outside their usual environment without staying overnight.
