More than 300 residents in Barangay Mandaragat in Puerto Princesa City received free medical consultations and health services through the two-day “Tarabidan sa Kalusugan” held last recently.
The event, held on July 2 and 3, was organized to give Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries better access to healthcare and promote preventive care and nutrition.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Mimaropa said the activity was a joint effort of the City Health Office of the Puerto Princesa government, working closely with barangay officials.
“Tarabidan,” a Cuyonon word meaning “working together,” served as the guiding principle of the initiative by bringing services directly to communities in need.

“Pantawid Pamilya expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all partners, particularly the City Government and Barangay Mandaragat, for their unwavering support in ensuring the health and well-being of 4Ps families,” DSWD Mimaropa said.
Residents received medical consultations, laboratory testing, medicines, and vitamins during the event. Children identified as underweight were given extra nutritional supplements from the City Nutrition Division.
The City Agriculture Office handed out vegetable seeds to promote backyard gardening and food security, while PhilHealth staff assisted residents with membership questions and updates.
DSWD Mimaropa also acknowledged the role of the Barangay Government of Mandaragat in hosting the event and providing logistical support, equipment, and meals for healthcare workers and volunteers.
“This is proof that when public service meets community participation, even the most pressing issues can be healed—not only physically but socially,” DSWD Mimaropa said.
